Unser Tag begann mit tollen Wetter, einem Grenzübertritt nach Österreich und spannenden Skulpturen am Wegrand.
Danach ging es weiter durch die Schlöggener Schleife, die Radwege und die Umgebung waren einfach toll! So haben wir heute auch die 500km Marke geknackt, mit Johanna am Lenker. Denn heute haben wir mal gewechselt und das hat so gut geklappt, dass wir das bis zum Campingplatz beibehalten haben.
Das Donauwetter zeigte sich bis Aschach von seiner schönsten Seite mit viel Sonnenschein und milden Temperaturen.
Kurz nach Aschach aber, hat das Wetter umgeschlagen und es begann zu tröpfeln. Während wir noch am überlegen waren, wie sinnig es sei die volle Regenmontour anzuziehen, haben sich die Himmelsschleusen geöffnet und der Wind nahm zu.
Zu Beginn war das noch ganz nett, so mit ca. 30kmh ohne zu treten den Fahrradweg entlang zu düsen, doch diese Vergnügen nahm ein jähes Ende als die Windrichtung umschlug, die Windstärke zunahm und es obendrein noch zu Hageln begann.
Wir schafften es gerade noch uns mehr oder weniger hinter ein kleines Wartungshäuschen zu retten, bevor es uns vom Damm gepustet hätte.
So standen wir also da, mit dem Rücken zum Fluss, mit angezogenen Bremsen und hielten uns und das Tandem irgendwie fest. Innerhalb von Sekunden waren wir völlig durchnässt und in den Schuhen stand das Wasser. Der Wind war so heftig dass auch unsere Regencover von den vorderen Taschen geweht wurden und es in die Frottasche geregnet hat.
Nachdem der schlimmste Sturmteil vorbei war, sind wir im Regen weitergefahren, am Campingplatz war es dann wieder recht trocken…
Ziemlich abenteuerlich – unsere neue Karte hat auch einiges abbekommen, sie trocknet jetzt mit Toilettenpapier zwischen den nassen Seiten.
